Keep Ovaries and Live Longer, hey women!
The ovaries are part of a woman's reproductive system. They are in the pelvis. Each ovary is about the size of an almond. The ovaries make the female hormones - estrogen and progesterone. They also release eggs. An egg travels from an ovary through a fallopian tube to the uterus. When a woman goes through menopause stage , her ovaries stop releasing eggs & make far lower level of hormones.

Women who undergo hysterectomy have their ovaries removed along with the uterus. It is a practice to protect women from ovarian cancer. But new studies suggest that women who keep their ovaries live longer. Many women who had their ovaries removed could developed breast cancer. They were more likely to develop heart disease that women who keep their ovaries.
