How to prevent and cure Gonorrhea?

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease(STD). This disease is caused by bacteria Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It can pass from one person to another by way of oral , vaginal & anal sex , though the person who is infected from it , has no symptoms. This bacteria can grow & multiply easily in warm & moist areas of the reproductive tract. It can grow in cevix , uterus & fallopian tube in women & in urethra in men & women both. This bacteria can grow in throat , mouth , eyes & anus.

Gonorrhea affects both men & women , it is easily transmitted during vaginal intercourse. This bacteria can also be passed from mother to her baby during birth. You can’t catch this disease from a towel , a doorknob & a toilet seat.


Causes of Gonorrhea : It can affect the people of any age & sex. But like other diseases , some people are more prone to it than others. This disease some times affects more young adults because they are the groups having multiple sex partners. These individual use no contraceptive during intercourse. This type of disease is easily transmitted by just one sexual encounter with an infected partner. Some other reason for spreading this disease are like contact of fluids with an infected person.

Symptoms of Gonorrhea in Women : In women some times this disease doesn’t show any symptoms or they are so mild that women don’t notice until they become more severe. Some women feel a burning sensation during urination , some times women will have yellow-green vaginal discharge. Women may also experience vaginal bleeding between menstrual bleeding.

If the infection become more widespread & move into uterus or fallopian tube , it may result in pelvic inflammatory disease(PID) , that causes pain , fever & pain during ntercourse.

Symptoms of Gonorrhea in Men : Men who have this disease may more likely to have notice symptoms of it. Men often feel burning sensation when they urinate. Yellow-white discharge may ooze out of the urethra. They may feel pain during intercourse.

Treatment of Gonorrhea : The treatment of Gonorrhea is based on the symptoms , sexual history & several risk factors & behavior. A laboratory tests are also done to complete the treatment. If you think you may have gonorrhea you need to see your doctor or Gynecologists. Sometimes doctors can diagnose gonorrhea by testing a person's urine. Talk to your doctor about which test is best for you.

Antibiotics are the main drugs that are used in treating gonorrhea because it is a bacterial disease. But recently, there are some herbs and minerals that are used to supplement the treatment of the disease. These may include zinc , multivitamins & mineral complexes , vitamin C , & even garlic. Some penicillin and penicillin derivatives are also used for the allopathic treatment of gonorrhea.

Prevention is better than cure : It's better to prevent gonorrhea than to treat it, and the only way to completely prevent the infection is to abstain from all types of sexual intercourse. If you do have sex, use a latex condom every time. This is the only birth control method that will help prevent gonorrhea.
